April 3, 2023In life, fear can be a significant obstacle to overcome. It can hinder us from reaching our full potential and living the life that God has called us to live. However, the Bible is full of stories of people who pushed past their fear and followed God’s plan for their lives. Here are five examples of individuals who overcame their fear and stepped out in faith.
- Moses: Moses was afraid to confront Pharaoh and lead the Israelites out of Egypt. However, God told Moses that he would be with him every step of the way. Moses obeyed God, and with His help, he successfully led the Israelites out of Egypt.
- Joshua: Joshua was tasked with leading the Israelites into the Promised Land after Moses passed away. This was a daunting task, but God told Joshua to be strong and courageous and that He would be with him. Joshua obeyed God, and with His help, the Israelites conquered the land.
- David: David was just a young boy when he faced the giant Goliath. Goliath was much larger and more experienced in battle than David, but David knew that God was with him. David trusted God, and with His help, he was able to defeat Goliath.
- Esther: Esther was afraid to approach King Xerxes to ask for his help in saving the Jewish people. However, she knew that God had placed her in this position for a reason. Esther stepped out in faith, and with God’s help, she was able to save her people.
- Peter: Peter was afraid to step out of the boat and walk on water with Jesus. However, when Jesus called him, Peter trusted Him and stepped out of the boat. With Jesus by his side, Peter was able to walk on water.
These stories serve as examples of how we too can push past our fear and trust in God. When we step out in faith, He will be with us every step of the way. As 2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” Let us not be afraid to pursue the calling that God has placed on our lives. Through His strength, we can overcome our fear and accomplish great things for His kingdom.
