We live in a world bombarded with an endless stream of information. Information that is often cut up and whittled down to seconds, leaving little time for deep contemplation or study. So it may seem like a luxury to take the time to delve into a topic, to explore its nuances, and to gain a deeper understanding of its implications. Still, as the Bible says, “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1 ESV).
Dr. Hassell is one such individual who has dedicated his life to deepening his understanding of faith, leadership, and community. His extensive missionary work in Uganda, Benin, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Tanzania, Zambia, Haiti, Ecuador, Guatemala, and Flint, Michigan, has informed his perspective and shaped his opinions on the importance of community building and service. While his work with the City of Yonkers on the Community Relations Committee and with the Yonkers Youth and Gang Violence Prevention Coalition has solidified his understanding of putting in the work to take care of home.

I have had the pleasure to serve under the leadership of Bishop James Hassell for the last 18 years and I am so grateful to God for it! Bishop doesn't just preach, HE TEACHES THE WORD OF GOD, and he does it with such simplicity and clarity a child can understand, AND IT IS MEAT!
